Davis and I met while working for Mycogen Seeds in York, NE.
He grew up in a small town in Western Kentucky and I grew up in York County. Being as he was from out of state I befriended him and made sure I taught him as much about our beautiful state as possible.
We worked together for three years before he got the opportunity of a lifetime to work at our parent seed production site on Kauai, Hawaii. I was ecstatic for him; I went out and bought him a pricey bottle of Bourbon and wished him well.
We decided to maintain a friendship, whoever said absence makes the heart grow fonder was accurate. He left the cornhusker state for the garden-isle in late February 2016 but returned to the mainland the first weekend in May to take me to my first Kentucky Derby! He returned back to Kauai, but was quickly called back home to Kentucky in early July 2016 after his dad suffered a major stroke. The morning after I got the news, I checked my seed corn fields, rented a car and started the long trek to Evansville, Indiana where his father was hospitalized. Davis said he knew in that moment he wanted to marry me.
At the end of August 2016, I hopped a flight to paradise, he proposed to me with a beautiful temporary family ring on the highest point at Shipwrecks Beach. Needless to say, I was in SHOCK, we called our loved ones, attendants and planned an April 1st morning wedding. The only thing missing was THE RING! We didn’t have the opportunity to window shop together for the perfect fit, but I quickly got a hold of Kerri and she looked over my wish list. Kerri and Davis then collaborated via text and email to design the perfect ring! Kerri did a wonderful job making my dream ring come to life!
